Workers protest homebuilders in Cool Springs
With a giant inflatable pig in tow, workers from Michigan-based Pulte Homes and its subsidiary Centex Corp. joined homeowners in a protest in Cool Springs today. It's a greedy pig. It represents how we feel that homebuilders treat their customers and the workers that build their homes," said Paul Price, campaign organizing director.

It's a greedy pig. It represents how we feel that homebuilders treat their customers and the workers that build their homes," said Paul Price, campaign organizing director.
The workers and homeowners were represented by the Laborers' International Union of North America, which has accused the company and its partners of predatory lending and unethical labor practices.
The protest, which took place along Mallory Station Road in front of Pulte Homesâ Nashville office, was the eighth stop on a 10-city tour throughout the country. The rolling protest's final destination is Pulteâs headquarters in Bloomfield Hills.
The group will have a forum today at 3:30 p.m. in Room 103 on the first floor of the Laskey Building at the Scarritt Bennett Center, 1008 19th Ave. South. http://www.tennessean.com/article/20091211/WILLIAMSON01/91211035/Workers+protest+homebuilders+in+Cool+Springs |
