   Speak Up
Buyers of new homes with construction defective problems have hit upon a tactic to grab their builder's attention: going public. They're speaking at City Council meetings, picketing outside model homes, writing letters to state officials, speaking at the state Legislature and starting Web sites to air their complaints.

Register your complaints online - Locate your Elected Official and write letters

#1 File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission  Take 5 minutes of your time and submit a complaint about your builder.  This will help all of us in the long term. 
Attention KB owner fil out two: KB Home owners please fill out an additional Special HOBB Complaint form and mail it to the FTC, Enforcement Division   

#2 National Association Attorney Generals Find your Attorney General on this page.  The site Links to ALL   State Attorney General offices in the US .  Find the consumer protection division and complain form.

#3  Find your US Senator and Congressman information.  This is an excellent site with updated information on US elected officials.  Write a short letter describing your defective home.  Be sure to ask them to support legislation that would curb the abuses of Binding Arbitration by homebuilders and return the rights of new home buyers to hold builders accountable for their for mistakes under the law. mistakes under the law. 

#4 File a complaint with the BBB online - File a complaint online for any location in the United States

NV State Contractors Board online - If a builders license is revoked and the problem is not fixed, the homeowner can make a claim under the residential recovery fund.  The fund will pay the homeowner their actual damages to get the problem fixed.  The fund can pay up to $35,000 per homeowner. But the resident could still choose to sue.
