The wonderful TRCC, spoke to them over and over, Barbara Wells, to be exact, and we did not let the builder who started our home finish it, so we were not eligible for SIRT. But when I found out he had not registared a home (around 15-20) in 2 years that he had been building in our area, (although, he had registared 12 in 2005, so he did KNOW it was mandatory) I was advised to give them this valuable information and he would be FINED, FINED,FINED!!!!!Filed a complaint, and went to the extent of going to the city and pulling every single permit he had for the past 2 years and handing it over to the TRCC. Guess what, per Barbara Wells, he bought himself into compliancy and was penalized for late registration. Yeah, these are the people I want in my corner! |

We have a Choice home in Midlothian Kensington Park Subdivision. Everytime it rains hard water stains show up on the ceiling in front of my bay windows. My ceramic tile in the kitchen is all cracked and coming up. We have called choice and the tile people who came out and declared that it was the Texas heat causing my tile to crack. We cannot get any help getting this floor or the leak repaired. We had one leak repaired in the back of the home. The water was coming through the brick into my home. They came out and put more mortar up there and it looks so sloppy and ugly. |

Lennar Homes defects just keep showing up one after another in our 6+ year old home and property. Defects started showing up three months after movings in and Lennar was notified. The following is a list of defects we have found in and under our Lennar Home by testing and documenting. 1. Water migrating under our home after it rains. 2. Water stains showing up on the garage floor 3 months after moving in. 3. Bad oders coming from within some areas of our new home from day one. 4. Mositure smells within our home from day one. 5. Moldy, damp smells coming form our cabinets throughout our home. 6. All the lower shelves in all the cabinetry sagging. 7. Water stains on the bottom legs of our island cabinet and others. 8. Moisture found under windows in exterior walls. 9. High calcium cloride (dome tests)reading from moisture throughout our home & garage. 10. High levels of toxic mold found under cabinets throughout our home. 11. Deteriorating concrete slab, tested 12. Concrete tested & classified as junk concrete. 13. Concrete slab cored and found to be about 3" is some locations and not the required 4" by code. 14. Concrete cores tested and found to be very porous. 15. Reinforcing wire mesh found at the bottom of all cores tested and not in the middle as code reguires. 16. Exterior stucco cracks. 17. Efflorescence found in garage floor and exterior foundation walls. 18. Hydrocarbons found in soil under our home, tested 19. High levels of Methane Gas and Carbon Monoxide tested and found under our home. 20. Yesterday I found the dryer vent pipe seams in our attic wrapped with masking tape and not the building code required tape. The end of this vent was also collapsed to half it's size to fit a under sized roof vent restricting the air flow. This alone could have burnt our home to the ground. After informing Lennar Homes of most of these problems they said we don't any problems and there is nothing their can do for us. Thats been Lennar's standing sense the beginning. |

If youre a home buyer required by the any builder to sign a "Binding Arbitration" - BE AWARE! Dont ever sign that document!
Bring a lawyer with you when the builder's sales agent ask you to come over to sign some documents. Its cheaper to pay 250 bucks an hour for a lawyer than signing that "Binding Arbitration" with the builder. |

I just want to say that we bought a defective home from D.R. Horton in Bakersfield CA. Their customer service is horrible and quality of work doing repairs are just poor. We even hire a lawyer just to get their attention but its still not working. They fix some issues partially but not complete. So, if you guys wanna have nightmares? Go ahead and buy D.R. Horton homes! |

My wife and I had a home built by Armadillo homes. Their quality of work is not up to par. We have cabinet doors falling off, drawers that do not close properly. The front yard of our new home does not drain properly. Every time it rains, we get a large puddle that stays for days. We have emailed Armadillo homes concerning this problem and all they do is come fix what they want to fix. We would like to be proud new homeowners, but that is just not possible. |
