Sample Letters:
Dear Chairman David Swinford:
Last January the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts released a comprehensive study on the Texas Residential Construction Commission (TRCC). In her report, the Comptroller found that the TRCC has been acting as a âbuilder protection agencyâ and is powerless to force homebuilders to repair construction defects.
As a follow-up to the Comptrollersâ report and the many news reports critical of TRCC, we are asking you as chairman of the Committee on State Affairs to schedule a public interim hearing regarding the TRCC and the need for homebuyer protection.
As a homeowner and taxpayer, I am shocked that
Texas
homebuilders are not regulated or held accountable. Families with broken dreams and promises are growing restless daily and will not be denied something as fundamental as a well-built and lasting home.
Sincerely,
