Drees Homes "Warning" Website featured on Fox 8 News in Cleveland, Ohio
Medina, Ohio February 1, 2007 One couple in Medina, OH who are fed up with leaks, cracks, and poor workmanship have launched their own website against their builder, Drees Homes, that is getting noticed by people all across the United States. Rob and Laura Hixenbaugh say they have "had enough," and set up the site to show and tell potential buyers of Drees Homes the poor quality they feel they received and the customer service that they say "does nothing but fight you down the line."
www.DontDoDrees.com went live 2 weeks ago and to date has received over 8,000 hits. Thanks to a story done by Cleveland's own Fox 8 News, the site has been spreading across the country at rapid speed. (The video of the newscast is now posted at www.DontDoDrees.com, along with the homeowners comments on the piece.)
The site owners say they "have begun receiving numerous "thank you" letters from Drees homeowners who share their own "Drees horror stories," but more importantly from prospective home buyers, thanking them for the informative website." The couple plans on posting some of the letters they have been receiving on their website very soon for prospective home buyers to read. The Medina couple states that "The site is a work in progress, and judging by the emails we have been receiving from other Drees homeowners, it is clear that we are definitely not just an "isolated" incident."
The website is also becoming a popular "link" being linked to many sites about bad home builders including HOBB (Home Owners for Better Building) HADD (Homeowners Against Deficient Dwellings) as well as many others.
When asked how long they plan on continuing the promotion of the website, the couple responded "We are just beginning. We have already been contacted by numerous other websites, newspapers as well as other television stations. We are on a mission at this point. Our goal is to bring this to as many people as we can, so we save them the headaches and stress that we have been through. This is just the beginning."
