Another dream home turns into Nightmare |

The Kimmler House of Ohio It all started with a dream and a desire to build something that would last and remain in the family for years to come, but alas it has only been a nightmare. In approximately October of 2000, my husband purchased the 5-acre, lakefront, cattle field and envisioned a Tuscan farmhouse with a view.
The Kimmler House of Ohio | Partial list of problems in our home such as. - The entire house is void of a vapor retardant, although the plans call for Tyvek-House walls have moldy insulation and moldy, moisture-laden and some rotten studs.
- EIFS has a warranty that is null and void due to improper installation, according to the EIFS manufacturer representative-lacks drainage system and proper sealer around roofline, electrical outlets, windows, and doors.
- The 2nd floor's ceiling is one foot lower than planned.
- Windows on 2nd Floor do not open all the way because faux rafter tails obstruct their path.
- Some windows on 2nd floor just do not open, they are stuck closed, I was told to take the screen off and give it a 'good stiff fist' and they will open.
- Sewer smell is intense depending on the day.
- 1st floor Hardwood flooring is splintering and cracking obliquely. Majestic Flooring laid the hardwood directly onto concrete with a full spread mastic.
- Andersen French door/windows and transoms on 1st floor leak to a varied amount and direction.
- Doors made by RCS either leak or do not open and close easily, or you can see light through gaps in which snow blows through.
- Due to leak in roof over Wine Cellar, cellar walls are puckering and mold is growing on exterior of bottles and the rough sawn, stained cedar lumber wine racks.
- Patio steps have fallen away from patio due to a lack of footers, which were called for on the plans.
