Democratic Precinct Caucus passes Resolutions to Establish a Home Lemon Law and Amend The Federal Arbitration Act 
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Democratic Party in order to protect consumers when purchasing a new home has the same rights afforded new car buyers and supports passage of a Home Lemon Law...That the Democratic Party in order to protect consumers and their constitutional rights supports and recommends the amendment of the Federal Arbitration Act. Use examples to submit Resolutions to your Democrat or Republican Caucuses

A RESOLUTION FOR CONSIDERATION FOR ADOPTION
AT THE 2008 TEXAS STATE DEMOCRATIC PARTY

SUBJECT AND TITLE:  Establish a Home Lemon Law

Whereas:  In order to protect consumer and families the right to expect a  new well built home that is safe for occupancy the Democratic Party supports a Home Lemon Law modeled after the Car Lemon Law. 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Democratic Party in order to protect consumers when purchasing a new home has the same rights afforded new car buyers and supports passage of a Home Lemon Law.

SUBJECT AND TITLE:  Amend the Federal Arbitration Act

WHEREAS:  In order to assure all Americans their Constitutional Right of access to the courts the Democratic Party supports a resolution to amend the  Federal Arbitration Act to make pre-dispute agreements to arbitrate employment, consumer, or civil rights disputes unenforceable.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Democratic Party in order to protect consumers and their constitutional rights supports and recommends the amendment of the Federal Arbitration Act, to prohibit Mandatory Binding Arbitration Agreements containing a pre-dispute agreement for the purchase of any consumer goods and services, employment agreement or any agreement that would deny Americans any constitutional right especially civil rights.
