Legend Home: Biggest Mistake in My Life
Saturday, 05 December 2009

This was the biggest mistake and the worse investment I have ever made in my life!
Now I am stuck with a new home that is a piece of junk and I am condemned to a life of debt and a home I will never be able to sell. After 1 year, the entire house started cracking in half. There were large cracks in the brick, the sheetrock, the drywall, the windows, and the hardy plank. The house sustained major structural damage and serious foundation problems.

I purchased a brand new home from Legend Homes in 2004. This was the biggest mistake and the worse investment I have ever made in my life!
After 3 years of living in my brand new home, it was deteriorating and falling down.

The house also had structural problems due to very poor workmanship. Within 3 years the house was so badly damaged that the estimated cost to repair and restore the house was much more that the house was worth. Every time it rained, there would be leaks everywhere. The windows would leak, the roof would leak, and I found leaks in the pipes, which indicated plumbing leaks. I complained to Legend Homes about the problems several times, but they ignored me and refused to help fix any of the problems.

I then filed a complaint with the TRCC (Texas Residential Construction Commission). They conducted an investigation which revealed that my house did have major structural damage and poor workmanship. However, Legend Homes still refused to help fix any of the problems and ignored my repeated phone calls. They advised me that it was not there problem and that it needed to be addressed with the warranty company (Home of Texas). However, the warranty company is nothing but a joke.

The coverage is very limited and does not help solve any of the problems. They conducted an investigation, and admitted that my home had major structural damage, but only offered a sum of money that did not even cover half  the cost of  all the necessary repairs. I was forced to hire an attorney and file suit against Legend Homes. During the litigation process, I was informed that several complaints and lawsuits have been filed against this company.

They had built numerous defective homes for years since 2003. They do not care about the consumers and they have hurt many people in the process. They are nothing more than scam artists that build cheap defective homes that fall apart after 3 years; then they try to walk away from any responsibility or accountability for their negligence.

I would encourage anyone who reads this not to make the same mistake that I did, and do not buy from Legend Homes.
