Tell the Sunset Commission to Abolish the Texas Residential Construction Commission (TRCC)

Tell the Sunset Commission to Abolish the Texas Residential Construction Commission (TRCC)!

Texas homebuilders have been given free rein to take advantage of ordinary Texans for far too long. We now have a unique opportunity to demand real reforms that will improve protections and options for Texas homeowners.

The staff of the Sunset Commission recently announced their recommendation that the TRCC be abolished, a move long-supported by consumer and homeowners organizations. The Texas Sunset Advisory Commission, a committee of lawmakers and citizens, is currently conducting a top-to-bottom review of the Texas Residential Construction Commission to recommend changes in the way Texas oversees the homebuilding industry. Make sure that the Commission hears your voice!

Complete the form below to send a message to members of the commission encouraging them to follow the staff's recommendations, and enact common sense reforms that ensure builder accountability, quality building standards, and true oversight and regulation of the homebuilding industry.

The Texas Residential Construction Commission is broken. Texas homebuilders have been given free rein to take advantage of ordinary Texans for far too long. As a member of the Texas Sunset Advisory Commission, you have the opportunity to protect homeowners and rein in abusive building practices.

As you know, the Sunset staff has recommended that the TRCC be abolished. That is a good first step. I hope you will adopt the staff recommendation and support real reforms that will ensure builder accountability, quality building standards, and true oversight of the homebuilding industry.

I am writing to ask you to support these reforms so that homeowners will have real protections from unscrupulous builders.

As a concerned homeowner, I strongly encourage you to take a stand against the TRCC and its abusive practices. It merely shields homebuilders and leaves homeowners out in the cold. I hope that you will stand with Texas homeowners.
