    Shifting ground destroying neighborhood fences
Most Houses in the Enclave of Willow Pointe are 3 to 5 years old. But some of the fences look a lot older because the ground is shifting and washing away, pulling some of the fences apart. She says they tried to work it out with the builder centex, but she says the company told her the fence was not under warranty.  When we talked to CenTex the company spokesperson said they were not familiar with the case, but confirmed that the fence did not have a warranty and that it did not actually build the fence. It was subcontracted out.

Homebuilder criticized for response to sinking homes
Homeowners like Faye Touve say there are cracks in their walls, crumbling foundations and big gaps between sidewalks and driveways. "I'm afraid my house is going to float down the back ..."It's not a fluke, it's not one individual house, it's not just a lemon, it's the neighborhood," Benavides said. "Something went wrong when building this neighborhood."

Homeowners want help, answers with foundation cracks
Residents of the Fairhaven subdivision, situated next to the Northcliffe subdivision off of Interstate 35, have met with representatives from Pulte Homes and city officials concerning their problems. While Pulte has repaired some of the damage caused by the cracks, many homeowners say the repairs are just a short term fix to a serious problem. Taylor said he is not the only homeowner on his block that has had to deal with the damaging cracks. “Seventeen houses on my side of Columbia (Drive) are experiencing the same problems,” Taylor said.

Labor Department probing big US homebuilders
The Labor Department is investigating large U.S. homebuilders to see if they failed to pay workers the minimum wage or overtime. A spokesman says the agency is investigating compliance with wage-and-hour laws in the homebuilding industry as part of a crackdown targeting several industries. Labor Secretary Hilda Solis has made aggressive enforcement of wage-and-hour laws a cornerstone of her tenure since she took over the agency in 2009. The department has hired about 300 additional investigators to probe complaints of unpaid work, lack of overtime pay and minimum-wage violations. Labor officials say so-called wage theft is especially prevalent among immigrant workers who speak little English or who fear challenging their bosses will jeopardize their immigration status.

    Fed probe includes PulteGroup
Michigan's largest new-home construction company is among four top homebuilders whose pay practices are being investigated by the U.S. Labor Department. Bloomfield Hills-based PulteGroup Inc., Lennar Corp., D.R. Horton Inc. and KB Home received a letter last month from the department requesting the firms to provide the names, addresses, Social Security numbers, pay rates and hours worked for all employees during the past two years, according to the Wall Street Journal. A Labor Department spokeswoman Thursday confirmed the inquiry but declined further comment.

Pulte-Centex Giant and $900 MILLON Grant
    Pulte-Centex Homes
    Saturday, 14 May 2011

Nation's largest home builder asked to account for $900 million grant
In 2010 Pulte Group received $900 million from the Worker Home Ownership and Business Assistance Act of 2009. Pulte had lobbied for the bill's passage. The act was intended by Congress and President Obama to be a job-creation measure. One year later, workers are still waiting for those jobs.  While Dugas remains free to enjoy the life a salary and compensation of $6.6 million (his total for 2010) can bring, a coalition of labor, faith and social justice advocates are increasingly putting Pulte in the spotlight. And, their anger is growing.

Fairhaven Residents Fear Further Damage To Homes, Retaining Walls
"The house is moving and sinking," said Brian Benavides. "It's scary," said Peggy Benavides. The Benavides said they found cracks in their new home, contacted Pulte and the builder came in and tore the home apart, patching cracks, filling holes and putting dozens of beams underneath to support the foundation. Still, the couple questions whether the cracking and shifting will continue. They said the problem has returned slowly because the land is sinking and sliding. The playground wall has already been repaired and so has the sidewalk. Chunks are missing from curbs and huge gaps are appearing between sidewalks and driveways and garages and driveways.

    Pulte-Centex Warranty??
This video is a report about problems experienced with Centex Homes, owned by Pulte Home Group. We are experiencing repeated problems with leaking pipes into our ceiling, walls to ceiling cracks, and pealing sheet rock by our Skylights. Centex has refused to fix our problems even though they are repeat problems previously fixed by Centex. We will post further video evidence of these problems so everyone can see the quality of Centex Homes, now owned by Pulte Homes. We appear to be living in a Lemon, with repeat problems, not a quality home as Centex professes to produce. We encourage everyone to think twice before buying a home from either of these companies.  See You Tube:Centex Homes Pulte Homes Poor Workmanship - Shower Leak Centex Homes Pulte Home Group Poor Workmanship - Centex Homes: Check! - Centex Homes Pulte Homes Poor Customer ServiceCommunity Forum on the Abuses from Centex Homes
