Mr. Montemayor and Staff, We at HomeOwners for Better Building have tried very hard to be "team players" and bring our experience to the table to help with this mold issue. As you know many of us had to take off work, spend our own money, and even put on a suit and tie, just to attend the hearings and meet with your staff. Many of our homeowners have done the same. Many have nothing else to do since they are out of their contaminated homes. Unfortunately you and your staff have erred and have breached your fiduciary duty to the citizens of this state by not appointing at least one of these homeowners to the task force. This is a disservice especially to these very homeowners who are responsibly paying their mortgage, paying for another place to house their family, and still willing to participate in your task force. Where is the "compassion" that this state invented over the last few years? Commissioner, I urge you to appoint a homeowner, a consumer, to your task force. And as always, we are willing to help find one with the real world experience with mold contamination your current task force is lacking. -- John R.
