CHAPEL HILL, N.C. A settlement has been reached over mold at two North Carolina Central dormitories.
The U-N-C Board of Governors has agreed to a one-point-five-(m)- million-dollar settlement with contractors who designed and built the dorms, which had to be closed in 2003 because of mold. They eventually were gutted and rebuilt.
The mold caused the displacement of 500 students, who were housed in Durham hotels for the school year.
