Dozens of KB homeowners are fighting mad and taking their case to City Hall. Theyre complaining about problems with their homes in the Northhampton, El Sendero and Tara subdivisions. KB homes admits having problems with shifting soils in the Tara subdivision but homeowners tell News 4 WOAI they wish they would have known about it before buying their new home. Airforce Sgt. Roberto Rodriguez is so embarrassed about his brand new KB home, he wont have company come over. Here we are in the living room, you can see the walls separating from the ceiling, you can actually see the wood underneath the sheet rock, said Rodriguez. You can also see separating from the ceiling the cracks the door, the door wont close, said Rodriguez. As war with Iraq becomes likely, Rodriguez says problems with his house are so distracting its hard to focus on the nations defense. Its so frustrating so upsetting I just want them to buy it back, let me keep going with my life and family thats all Im asking, said Rodriguez. Meanwhile, KB home now says its ready to help Rodriguez in any way possible. Larry Oglesby is a KB spokesman, were not going to stop short of anything from making it absolutely right, taking care of the home or doing whatever it takes, KB home will stand behind that product, said Larry Oglesby. KB home has hired an outside engineer to come to the Tara subdivision and find out whats causing the soils to shift in Tara |
