The question is who is going to pay to fix the roads in Ventura Heights, a neighborhood off Walzem and Seguin Roads?
There was yet another meeting at the Bexar County Commissioners Court. According to the report given by the county engineer, many of the developers have stepped up to repair streets in their areas of the county.
But that is not the case for Ventura Heights.
The county said, the developer technically no longer exists, and that if a subdivision is abandoned by the builder, then the residents are responsible for the costs of the repairs.
Residents were given a few options.
One option is to gather a lump sum amount and divide the repair costs between homeowners.
They can also choose to get taxed over a 30-year period.
The third option is to have county make repairs at all taxpayers expense.
But the county says they don't feel it is fair to tax everyone for this one neighborhood's problems.
"From the beginning it's been, the homeowners, 'You pay, you pay, and you pay.' There is nothing new. There is no change in that. And what upsets us the most is that somebody dropped the ball. The ball was dropped at county, and we are being blamed for it," says resident Kent Butler.
Residents in the neighborhood say the dispute has turned into one big blame game.
There is no word yet on when they will be meeting again.
