San Antonio Homeowners Accuse Homebuilders Of Intimidation
Thursday, June 11, 2009
SAN ANTONIO -- A group of San Antonio homeowners are upset with their homebuilder, KB Homes. The homeowners claim that KB officials are trying to keep the owners from selling their homes.
"I do need to sell my home," Maria Suarez, Sundance Homeowner, said. "I'm trying to sell my home; my house has several issues. I really need to sell it and obviously I'm going to have a really hard time doing that."
The Texas Homeowners for HOA Reform joined members of the Quarry at Iron Mountain and Sundance communities to protest KB Homes on Thursday afternoon and have posted protest signs around the neighborhood. Homeowners said that KB officials are attempting to intimidate them to keep them from selling their homes.
Officials for KB denied these claims and said that this is simply a case of a few homeowners bringing down the property values of the neighborhood.
"More than 60 percent of the neighbors living in this neighborhood, which is a very beautiful community, signed a petition asking their neighbors to please remove the negative signage from their yards," Kathy Teague, with KB Homes, said.
