Homeowners Lash Out At KB Home
Several KB homeowners confronted the home builder at a Tuesday evening meeting claiming they were decieved about the future of their community...
In the end most homewoner left as angry as the were before that meeting started. Viewer comment: "When the judges and commissioners side with the Fascist rules written by the self-serving corporate greed machines we have a fascist governance of our neighborhoods. Have some guts, Judge Nelson. Put the decision in the hands of the homeowners and hold the big corporation accountable for this deception."

Homeowners Lash Out At KB Home

SAN ANTONIO -- Several KB homeowners confronted the home builder at a Tuesday evening meeting claiming they were decieved about the future of their community.

KB's regional president, Ken Langston, listened to angry homeowners at a meeting called by County Commissioner Sergio "Chico" Rodriguez about what county officials are doing in the area near the Sundance Trails neighborhood, but the meeting quickly changed to into accusations about Langston's company using deceptive business practices.

Company spokeswoman Kathy Teague said the homebuilder is committed to building qaulity homes, and that plans to build smaller homes with garages were scrapped after the community protested. Many customers were demanding the builder buy back their homes, but KB officials said that's not possible, but that they would fix any problems brought to their attention.
Homeowners were complaining about KB bringing in smaller homes that eventually dropped the value of their higher-priced homes.

This is what the property & homeowners in the Avalon Subdivision in Floresville, Texas (which is also the home of the Maverick Golf Club and Green Pepper Restaurant) should be doing as well since the owner filed bankruptcy. Their property values have decreased in value so much they will never recoup their investments.

Awww! Poor,Poor Baby's! These people who bought these homes get what they deserve!
There is NO STATE LAW or zoning law that states a "home builder" can not build smaller or "cheaper" homes next to "bigger" and more expensive homes. If the people who bought these homes and they DO NOT like it, than MOVE OUT! if you can sell the home. No one in there "right mind" is not going to pay for a home that is not worth it and become a "bad investment".That's just too bad! Shut-Up and "deal with it" or MOVE OUT!
P.S. This is what YOU get when you buy a home in a "sub-division" here or anywhere in Texas."Trailer parks" are just as bad to.

KB apparently has the power to change the "contract" (the CC&Rs)?? When the HOA is "turned over to the homeowners" 66% of the owners must agree change anything. IF the contract was fair and valid, KB would buy back these homes as a result of "breach of contract". But what we see here is collusion with the "elected officials" and judges who side with big special interests. KB should be held to the terms of the original contract without at least 66% of the homeowners in agreement. This is the ultimate "deception" - this is not a fair of valid contract. 60-70% of the money sent to most HOAs is sucked into the HOA management "business" and very little actually goes to pay for services and maintenance - deception again.

The terms that allow the developer to change things without homeowner control is unfair and should be nullified by Judge Wolfe. It is an adhesion contract with outrageously unfair terms. These "governing documents" were written by the developer, for the developer - the people have no say in the wording of these "contracts") and developer should be held to the original contract therms.

The Texas property code 201 is very clear on the petition process that is supposed to be used to create, renew or change restrictions in HOAs - the judge should bring democracy to this problem and allow the Developer to change things ONLY if 2/3 of the homeowners agree. The judge and commissioners should hold KB's feet to the fire and make them buy back the houses due to breach of contract.

When the judges and commissioners side with the Fascist rules written by the self-serving corporate greed machines we have a fascist governance of our neighborhoods. Have some guts, Judge Nelson. Put the decision in the hands of the homeowners and hold the big corporation accountable for this deception.

I don't think Mr Rodriguez will do anything, I voted for him now I wish I had not. Ask for his help on another matter, NEVER HEARD FROM HIM.

People just have to learn NOT to buy homes from this company, back when KB used another name, the same problems were going on for years. You would think someone would have put a stop to this builder, no one has so maybe someone is filling there pockets with more then just change

FYI for those who are in homeowner's associations and don't want to be: If everyone in the community agrees to disband the association, it can be done. Just do a google search on disbanding homeowner's associations. I, too had a problem with paying this association (which was based in Austin???) money for nothing, and I went out and learned what to do to stop it.

KB has been doing this kind of thing for years. I live in a small community and we were told about the swimming pool and clubhouse and all that and haven't seen a thing. And still pay almost $200 a year to the homeowners association for whatever reason. KB will continue to make promises and people will continue to be deceived and nobody will do anything about it. Too bad it has to be that way. KB doesn't need to be in "business by deception."

A business is as successful as it treats it's customers...and there is no reason why KB homes can't join the ranks of all those going UNDER right now if they don't respect their customers! I certainly will NOT be recommending them to any military friends planning to use their VA loans here in San Antonio. And ...elected officials who patronize their constituents/ employers ...when they go to him/them for help is probably not a good person to be re- elected next time around! JMO..and something to think about....

So K-B HOMES will not buy your houses back. Then they should at least give you the difference to make up what each homeowner has lost now that (i assume) K-B HOMES is still going to build cheap homes no where near the value of yours.Even with the hard times were facing today.GOOD LUCK!
