With Liberty and Justice for All
We all pledge our allegiance to the flag so we should expect liberty and justice for all.  Unfortunately, in Texas, we are being stripped of our liberty and opportunity for justice through poorly written legislation meant to “help” us. I have spent my adult life upholding the principles of liberty and justice for our country as a member of the US military.  I will be first in line to enforce the principles that have made our country great and I have proven my allegiance.  So I am sure you will appreciate my concern about the absence of liberty and skewed justice being forced on American’s through lopsided opinions of government agencies such as the Texas Residential Construction Committee (TRCC) State -sponsored Inspection and Dispute Resolution Process (SIRP) and government supported Mandatory Binding Arbitration (MBA).

With Liberty and Justice for All
By James Winslow:
“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”  For most, this allegiance was required from the day we started school.  It is expected of all citizens of the United States.  We recite the pledge at the beginning of most if not all government meetings.

Many who have used the TRCC SIRP or MBA know first hand liberty and justice for all does not apply.  As a Texas citizen we are forced (we do not have the liberty to choose) to use the TRCC SIRP and MBA when our home builders refuse to honor their contracts to build us a quality house or to make repairs covered in a so called warranty.  Once we enter either process we quickly realize our government does not support liberty and justice for all.  The sad fact is these laws protect irresponsible businesses.  Businesses that need the TRCC and MBA to protect their unwillingness to accept responsibility for bad workmanship.

Fortunately, we do not have to tolerate poor quality and Texas residents can recover some of our liberty and get justice for all by eliminating the TRCC and refusing MBA in all contracts.  The Texas Sunset Commission will meet this September to review the usefulness of the TRCC and bills have passed committee in the US Congress aimed at protecting consumers from MBA.  Let your representative know we do not need the TRCC and demand consumer protection from MBA.  We need to let our representatives know we will not tolerate a government that does not honor liberty and justice for all. For this is the principle we have sworn our allegiance and it is time to hold our government accountable for that allegiance and expect liberty and justice for all.
