KB Home Quietly Drops Plans for New Orleans Subdivision
KB Home has quitely dropped its highly-publicized plan to build thousands of homes in the greater New Orleans area. In its original December 2005 press release announcing the development, KB Home said the "venture will pursue the building of new homes in Louisiana with the goal of providing permanent housing and increased economic development to Louisiana in the aftermath of the two devastating hurricanes in the state."

KB Home has dropped its highly-publicized plan to build thousands of homes in the greater New Orleans area. The homebuilder allowed the contract on the land to expire about a month ago.

In its original December 2005 press release announcing the development, KB Home said the "venture will pursue the building of new homes in Louisiana with the goal of providing permanent housing and increased economic development to Louisiana in the aftermath of the two devastating hurricanes in the state."

KB Home did not issue press release announcing its pullout.
