HOBB Community

It appears that I've been banned from our community's website. banned from the community website that my assessment helps to pay for. So it goes at Sun City Hilton Head, SC.

When we bought in 2004 I never imagined the poor construction that I've seen since we moved here--roof truss connections that don't meet building code requirements, defective stucco, a roof that leaks, cracks, a failed retaining wall, poorly constructed and maintained lagoons, etc.

My blogsite, http://peretired.blogspot.com/ (http://peretired.blogspot.com/), is dedicated to providing others with the warning that we never got--about shoddy construction, an arrogant builder, and an inept County. Check it out.

Many of my neighbors think that Pulte is their benevolent uncle, despite:

* the hurricane clip debacle
* defective stucco
* leaking roofs
* cracks in floors
* other shoddy house construction
* silt-filled lagoons
* acres of dead trees in the Hidden Cypress wetland
* collapsed retaining wall
* the coup de tat
* Pulte "making it up as they go along", including rewriting community bylaws
* the website
* impending assessment increases
* manipulation, including heavy handedness:
       . by Pulte
       . by Beaufort County
       . by the Community Association Board of Directors
       . by many neighborhood reps
       . by the NRC
       . by other Board-appointed committees
       . by other government agencies
* etc.

Some just don't get it. Some are apathetic. Some are dishonest--they don't want the problems discussed because it may affect their selling their home--in other words, they want to secretly pass off their house problems to some other unsuspecting soul, just like Pulte did.
