Title: Wrong Relief Post by: Jane Doe on April 04, 2008, 02:17:14 pm Wrong Relief: http://news.mywebpal.com/partners/356/public/news891572.html
Consumer groups were saying for years that this mortgage mess was going to happen as a result of irresponsible business practices and fraud. As soon as builders started whining for a bailout and pretending it was for the homeowners it was obvious it was really only for the builders. I predict that if there's a slight improvement in homebuilder stock prices as a result of them getting a bailout, a pile of builder CEOs and insider investors will "git while the gittin's good" and leave someone else (taxpayers and remaining builders) to pay for it. You'd think if nothing else would make the good builders finally grow some balls and stand up to the NAHB it'd be this. These big builder CEO's are going to leave a wasteland for any builders still trying to make a living in construction in the next few years.
