Title: HELP????? Post by: Leslie Snipes on February 26, 2008, 11:20:03 pm I'm the "senior" board member of my HOA and I'm still a BABY board member. Our complex was built in 1978 with SERIOUS defects which have only been added to by poor and deferred maintenance for 25+ years and serious lack of long term financial planning. I suspect you all know this story too well and I'm here because I don't want anyone else to find themselves where we are a few years down the road.
In the meantime, I could use some advice from those of you with more experience. I keep looking for vendors who work for associations and associations for associations/board members. So far, all I've found are CAI which is clearly aimed at and for property managers at management companies and vendors who work for property management companies (no matter what their contract says). OK, that's a little over the top but not too much. Is it just me or isn't the management company a vendor of the association; an agent? Am I just missing the resources out there? If so, please direct me to them. Or does this wheel need that much of a reinvention? (If so, please tell me and I'll stop searching and start helping to reinvent because I have degrees and experience in accounting, law, and management and this isn't rocket science.) I'm in Houston, TX, and anyone in a new or old association that is interested in working together on HOA issues is welcome to email me. Our little associations have to join together to stop the lousy building, maintenance , and management going on in our HOA's! HOBB, thank you for existing! I will now continue plowing through this website voraciously. I especially love that you have links for dealing with lousy lawyering! There seems to be quite a bit of it out there. Title: Re: HELP????? Post by: wesley snipes on May 29, 2008, 03:55:02 am Funny you should mention lousy lawyering, Leslie. You mentioned your degrees in law, management and accounting, yet you still managed to get disbarred not once, but twice:

Title: Re: HELP????? Post by: Leslie Snipes on May 29, 2008, 04:11:03 am Thanks for posting the link (whoever you really are, like I don't know) so that whoever wants can actually go there and see how you (to put it politely) misrepresent what is clearly printed there.
Of course, the members of my community are well aware of all the facts and, being so, generally consider that matter irrelevant. I use my real name because the truth sets us free; too bad "Wesley Snipes" can't say the same! Hey, "Wesley", nice to see you're just as nasty now as when you were living in our complex. I feel sorry for the community you're now in!
