Title: Beware

Be careful you do not get duped on this one. Here is a link   to an article put out by FTC.

Good heads up.  Anyone who filed a complaint related to their house with the FTC might be fooled by it since they could be expecting a reply.  With rare exception though, any reply from the FTC about their house would be a form reply, with info about warranties, etc, that mostly doesn't apply.  If someone's expecting a reply from the FTC they should get on their website ftc.gov and find some phone contact info and check on their complaint if they're worried about email.  I would hope that now that so much actual fraud is being exposed in relation to toxic loans, appraisal fraud, and so on, that the FTC is doing more than stock replies now but I doubt it.  They are overwhelmed and it was a sign of major violations that they fined KB Home a few yrs ago.

Excellent advice Jane.

Citizens (especially victims) should also check and see if any of their elected officals are holding meetings in regard to what is happening with the subprime lending, mortgage fraud etc. Call their offices and maybe suggest they do this. Don't just contact your elected offical, call those in  any of the surrounding areas where you live.
